General Quota (ARP)
Booking opens exactly 60 days before journey date at 8:00 AM IST. Applies to Express, Mail and Superfast trains. The journey day itself is not counted.

Tatkal — AC Classes
AC Tatkal (1A, 2A, 3A, CC) opens 1 day before journey at 10:00 AM IST. Tatkal surcharge applies. No senior citizen or other concessions permitted.

Tatkal — Non-AC (SL / 2S)
Sleeper and 2nd Sitting Tatkal opens 1 day before journey at 11:00 AM IST — one hour after AC Tatkal. Same surcharge and no concession rules apply.

AC 1st Class / Executive
AC First Class (1A) and Executive Class (EC) enjoy a 365-day Advance Reservation Period. Book an entire year in advance. Opens at 8:00 AM IST.

Premium Tatkal
Premium Tatkal opens simultaneously with regular Tatkal — 10:00 AM for AC and 11:00 AM for Non-AC. Fares are dynamic and higher. No refund on cancellation.

ARP Rule Change 2024
The 60-day ARP replaced the old 120-day ARP from November 1, 2024. All tickets booked before Oct 31, 2024 under the old 120-day rule remain fully valid.
